A great resource for readers, Novelist provides booklists and the ability to search for books similar to what you've already enjoyed. You can even create lists of books you'd like to read in the future. Grab your library card, log in, and start browsing!

Library Sites for Readers

Good Books, Music, and More - A list of good read resources from the Monroe County Library System (MCLS).

Online Book Clubs - Join an online book club from MCLS, and receive a 5 minute selection from a chapter of a book Monday through Friday. If you like it, come into the library and check it out to read the rest. (Each Monday, a new book starts.)

Seattle Public Library Reader's Corner - The adult section of the Reading Corner provides several read-alike lists (e.g. if you liked The Da Vinci Code), and reading lists based on genre, general fiction, and nonfiction.

Books on the Air - The New York Public Library provides a weekly list of books discussed on television or National Public Radio.

Reader's Club - The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County provides reviews of fiction and nonfiction books from library staff, a reading log, an author section, and a chance to provide your own review.

Jefferson County Public Library - A large collection of web resources for readers, this site includes links to booklists, publishers, authors, book discussion group resources, and more!

What's Next? Books in Series - The Kent District Library in Michigan has created a database to help you keep track of the order of books in a series. You can search by author, title, or series.

Multnomah County Library Booklists - The library has created a selection of "if you like", topical, and nonfiction booklists for adult readers.

Library Journal's Best Books of 2007 - A list of titles chosen by Library Journal as the best of the best from last year.

Book Reporter - This is the website where “readers and writers click.” Enjoy reading suggested titles from the “on the edge of your seat” and “one to watch” categories.

American Writers - This site was created and is maintained by C-SPAN. View streaming media of complete programs and related videos of writers and their works.

New York Times Book Review - Read what The New York Times considers to be the most popular books. Benefit from links to the most notable books of 2007 and to the Sunday Book Review

Mostly Fiction - Expand your reading repertoire by exploring this site and linking to book titles about the wild-west, Latin America , thrillers, humorous fiction, beyond reality, and non-fiction. 

Overbooked - Overbooked.com is described as “a web site for ravenous & omnivorous readers. Overbooked provides information about fiction and readable nonfiction.” Link to African American, Christian, and historical fiction book selections.
