    CARE OF LIBRARY MATERIALS
    All circulating materials owned by the Irondequoit Public Library may be borrowed with a valid library card issued by any member library of the Monroe County Library System. The materials may be returned to any member library of the Monroe County Library System. When you receive a library card you agree to be responsible for all items checked out to that card. All materials are carefully checked for damage and missing parts when returned with special attention to audio books, music CDs, videos, DVDs, CD-ROMs and PlayStation 2 games.

    LIBRARY CARDS
    All fines and fees must be paid in full when updating or renewing a library card.

    LOAN PERIODS
    3 week material includes: Books, Large Print Books, Magazines, Newspapers, Books on Tape, Books on CD and Music CDs.

    2 week material includes: New Adult Books, PlayStation 2 games (limit of 2) and Christmas items (adult only).

    1 week material includes: Videos (limit of 15) and DVDs (limit of 7)

    A fee of $.50 will be attached to your personal financial library record for holds placed with the Monroe County Library System. There is a limit of 25 holds per library card.

    LATE CHARGES
    $.25/day items: Books, Large Print Books, Books on tape, Books on CD, Music CDs, PlayStation 2 games, magazines, newspapers, videos and DVDs.
    $1.00/day items: CD-ROMs

    Maximum Fines:
    Adult - $7.00
    Young Adult - $5.00
    Children - $3.00
    Video/DVD/PlayStation 2 - $7.00
    CD-ROMs - $12.00

    If fines and/or fees reach a total of $5.00 borrowing privileges will be suspended until paid.

    Fines and fees are established by the Library Board of Trustees and the Monroe County Library System.

    BOOKDROP
    Walk up bookdrops are positioned near the entrance of each Branch and are open for returns when the libraries are closed. All items may be placed in the bookdrops.

    LOST ITEMS
    Materials not returned within 43 days of the due date are considered lost. Fees for lost items include the current replacement cost of the item plus a $5.00 processing fee. If materials are returned after billing occurs, only the maximum late charge is applied.

    COLLECTION AGENCY
  • Accounts totaling $35.00 or more in fines and/or lost materials are referred to the collection agency 18 days after the bill for replacement has been issued. A non-returnable $15.00 service charge is added to each account referred to collection.
  • The collection agency will make several attempts to reach you over the course of 60 days. If your account is not cleared, credit reporting agencies will be notified which could adversely affect your credit rating.
  • If you receive an overdue notice or bill for replacement and you believe it is in error, please call the library and ask the librarian to check our shelves.

    CONSIDER A GIFT OR DONATION
    Memorial gifts are a lasting tribute to a beloved family member or friend. Gifts made to the Irondequoit Public Library will be used to purchase appropriate items which will be added to the collection. Each gift will be acknowledged with a bookplate.

    Cleaning out? Make a donation of gently used books, magazines, puzzles, videos, music, video games and audio books you no longer need to the ongoing books sale in our lobbies. We do not accept text books or encyclopedias. Come in and browse!

    All donations and memorials are tax deductible

    COMMUNITY ROOM:
    The Community Rooms at both branches are available for meetings when not reserved for library programs. Reservations and payment for use of the room must be made in advance of the meeting date.
