The next Friends of the Chili Public Library Booksale will be held on February 5 and 6, 2010.  The Friends Preview Sale will be on Friday, February 5 from 2pm-5pm.  Memberships may be purchased at the door.  The Sale will be open to the general public on Saturday, February 6 from 9am-4pm.

The Friends are publishing a Book Lover's Cookbook as a fundraiser for the library.  There are two boxes on the programming table (one for blank forms and one for submitted ones) for patrons and staff to submit their favorite recipe along with a favorite book title by April 1.

 

Don't forget our "Books to People" program, a delivery service for homebound Chili residents.  Call the library at 889-2200 for more information.  Click here for an application.  Please feel free to print it out and mail or drop it off at the library.

Mission Statement

The Friends of the Chili Public Library is a non-profit group which promotes and supports the library by providing supplemental financial assistance for the purpose of purchasing special materials and equipment and sponsoring programs for the cultural and educational life of the community.

The Friends' Meetings

The Friends' meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the library's conference room.

Currently the Friends

  • Sponsor a "Books to People" program to deliver library materials to the homebound

  • Conduct Book Sales

  • Recycle used cell phones and inkjet cartridges

  • Support educational and entertaining programs for children, teens and adults

  • Support four monthly book discussion groups

  • Promote library services to the public

  • Encourage endowments and gifts to the library

  • Increase public awareness of library resources
