INTERNET EXPLORER EMAIL ACCOUNT SETTINGS
Do not give your user name and password to friends, co-workers or family members.
If you feel someone has accessed your account, please notify Library Automation Services at 428-8022 immediately.
User names are usually made up of the first initial of your first name and the first 7 letters of your last name. Your user name is above.
The full email address for your account will look like the example given below.
asmith@libraryweb.org or Anonymous.Smith@libraryweb.org
Substitute your user name for asmith or Anonymous.Smith.
Your user name and password allow dial-in access to the World Wide Web as well as access to your email account. Your password is cats300.
AS THE USER OF THIS ACCOUNT, YOU HAVE AGREED ON THE APPLICATION NOT TO GIVE OUT THIS PASSWORD.
LAS does not keep track of passwords. However, if you forget your password, call LAS at 428-8022. Please use the following guidelines when deciding your password:
· Must be between 6 – 8 characters
· Can be letters, numbers or combination of both
· Case sensitive
Password examples: c00kie, saLe#3, my2toes
The password is hidden and not visible as you are typing.
PROBLEM EMAIL
Email is not a secure medium and should be used with some discretion.
Chain letter emails are discouraged as they take up excessive amounts of system resources. Harassing or threatening email is not permitted on the Internet. If you receive any or have any problems with your account, please contact Library Automation Services’ Help Desk at 428-8022.
When setting up the email portion of your graphical browser (i.e. Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer), you will need to know the following information:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server = 65.37.105.3
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server = 65.37.105.3
Mail Server Type = POP3
User Name or Mail Server User Name = your user name as listed above
